Lasher Construction completed a comprehensive structural restoration and exterior rehabilitation project at Steelman’s Watch Condominiums in Brigantine, New Jersey. Located directly along the Jersey Shore, this waterfront condominium community required extensive repairs to address structural deterioration, water intrusion, corrosion, and long-term exposure to harsh coastal conditions. A primary component of the project involved the repair and replacement of deteriorated cantilevered structural steel beams supporting exterior balconies and deck systems. Due to the condition of the existing structure, temporary structural shoring was installed to safely support affected areas while repairs were completed. These structural improvements restored load-carrying capacity, improved safety, and extended the service life of critical building components.
Additional work included precast concrete deck repairs, balcony restoration, railing replacement, roofing improvements, siding restoration, dividing wall repairs, waterproofing, flashing modifications, and building envelope rehabilitation. These improvements were designed to address water infiltration, improve weather resistance, and protect the structure from ongoing deterioration caused by salt air and coastal moisture exposure.
Because Steelman’s Watch is located in Brigantine, Atlantic County, directly adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, building components are subjected to some of the most demanding environmental conditions found along the New Jersey coastline.
